INTRODUCTION:

Lincoln Youth Soccer Club (LYSC) is looking for new referees for the upcoming season. LYSC Referee Program provides training and development for teens and adults to become licensed referees supporting both recreational and competitive (Lincoln FC) youth soccer. Licensed referees earn $$$ and learn life skills that are valuable on and off the pitch.

In order to become a licensed referee, you must be at least 13 years of age at the time of taking the course. A general background in soccer is also recommended, but not required. The entry level referee training course consists of an online course that takes approximately 6 hours to complete, followed up by a 3-hour field training session. The cost of for the training program is $75. Our assigned class will be late in July. You can also attend local referee classes in Roseville or Rocklin if available. The registration is reimbursable, please contact Frank Banuelos for further information at ref@lincolnsoccer.org .

Intern Program:

The club also offers the intern program for any child that is under the age of 13 years old. The intern is also a paid position and a great way to introduce them to being a referee. The intern will be assigned with a season referee and officiate our U6/8 games.

Once your training is complete, you will be connected with our Referee Assignor (Frank Banuelos, ref@lincolnsoccer.org)  so you can start refereeing soccer matches.  Entry level referees will generally start out refereeing younger players in recreational level soccer matches. As you gain confidence and experience, you will move up to matches played by older players and competitive soccer matches. The payments for each game refereed increase as you move up to higher level matches and pay scale listed below.
