Coaches, Parents, and Players,

The Lincoln Knights of Columbus Council 9202 is hosting the 2024 KOC Soccer Challenge on Friday September 20th at the Foskett Ranch Park soccer field. This is a “Penalty Kick Soccer Competition” for BOYS and GIRLS ages 9-14, and is free to all participants. Each year, the LINCOLN Knights of Columbus makes a donation to the LYSC to support scholarships for those in need. We are asking LYSC coaches & parents to support the Knights by encouraging their soccer players to participate in our local council competition. 

How does the KOC Soccer Challenge work? First, the soccer goals are roped off into 5 zones with 5-10-20 point values assigned based on the difficulty of PK shot.  Secondly, each participant gets 15 shots from the PK spot. The boy and girl in each age group with the highest total points will win the “Council Champion Certificate” and move on to the District Soccer Challenge competition for the chance to move on to the Chapter, and State Soccer Challenge competition. In 2023, two Lincoln Youth Soccer Club Boys Josiah Warkocki 11 Boys, and Mason Denzler 13 Boys were each awarded the State Soccer Challenge Champion Trophy.

 

More information on our 9/20/24 Council Soccer Challenge is furnished below:

  • Ages 9,10 & 11:  Check-in 4:30 PM Competition begins at 5 PM
  • Ages 12,13 & 14:  Check-in 5:15 PM Competition begins at 5: 45 PM
  • Players Age Grouping is based on his/her age as of September 1, 2024. Please bring a “copy of your son or daughter’s birth certificate” which we will attach to the registration form. NOTE: Council 9202 Winners will be eligible to participate in the District 5 KOC Soccer Challenge in October in Auburn, CA.
  • You can sign up at the event, however, there are only 30 spots per age grouping e.g. 30 Nine Year olds, 30 Ten Year olds etc. (15 Boys & 15 Girls for each age group etc.) so spots will be assigned on a “first to sign-up basis.”

NOTE: We recommend you pre-register for this event and confirm your spot using the LYSC Website (Team Sideline).  Player Registration ends Monday September 16, 2024 at 12 Noon.
